Its mandate was then and is now to ensure sustainable off road recreational driving in the area known as Atlantis Dunes. In 2011 the landowner, The City of Cape Town started the process to proclaim Atlantis Dunes as a &#8216;protected area&#8217; to be known as The Witzands Aquifer Nature Reserve.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.capetown.gov.za\/Family%20and%20home\/see-all-city-facilities\/our-recreational-facilities\/Nature%20reserves\/Witzands%20Aquifer%20Nature%20Reserve\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(<em>learn more about Witzands Aquifer Nature Reserve)<\/em>\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ADORE engaged with The City of Cape Town with very positive and groundbreaking results. We agreed that the activity of off-road recreational driving would be included as an activity in the integrated draft management plan for Witzands Aquifer Nature Reserve. In addition, references to the historical use of the area that we have enjoyed were to be included.<a href=\"https:\/\/resource.capetown.gov.za\/documentcentre\/Documents\/City%20strategies,%20plans%20and%20frameworks\/Witzands_IRMP_Sep2014v02_Final.pdf\">\u00a0 <\/a><em><a href=\"https:\/\/resource.capetown.gov.za\/documentcentre\/Documents\/City%20strategies,%20plans%20and%20frameworks\/Witzands_IRMP_Sep2014v02_Final.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(Read the Integrated Draft Management Plan).<\/a><\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.capetown.gov.za\/en\/EnvironmentalResourceManagement\/Documents\/Integrated_Reserve_Mngt_Plans_FINAL\/Witzands_IRMP_Sep2014v02_Final.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/a> ADORE is now part of the Witzands Aquifer Nature Reserve PAAC where we represent the off-road community as a user group. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.capetown.gov.za\/City-Connect\/Have-your-say\/surveys-and-submissions\/become-a-member-of-a-protected-area-advisory-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(<em>learn more about PAAC committee&#8217;s)<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our website is designed to give off road users of the Witzand Aquifer Nature Reserve feedback from ADORE, The Witzand Aquifer Management and the PAAC committee<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Communication and Feedback from ADORE<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can contact ADORE should you have any feedback regarding the area, specifically the activity of off-road driving or if you want to keep up to date and want to be added to our mailing lists.
